I’m a freelance illustrator based in London some days of the week, and back in Cambridge for the other days. Using a mixture of soft pencils, inks, watercolours and occasionally Photoshop (occasionally!), I guess you could say that my work’s all about vintage fashion, Japanese printmaking and beautiful looking men wearing drainpipe jeans.
I love playing with my sister’s cats, sitting by my mother’s fish pond and listening to BBC Radio stories. I also enjoy eating out, watching art-house cinema and having coffee and cake with friends in some dingy hangout. Finally, I am addicted to green tea.
But who cares! After all this is just a glorified site for me to post my own creations and stuff my face with cookies behind a pretty screen! Mwahaha!

hi zarina!! nice blog you have! i looked at your website as well and looked at hte rest of your works, and they are absolutely stunning!!! sugoiii! (“amazing” in japanese if you might not know this certain japanese- i know you’re chinese but some people learn random words from other languages! so just syaing incase you hadn’t come across it
)
i just loveeeeeeeeee your style and your paintings are fabbb! oh by the way im the girl that you spoke to today at the matsuri- brown hair, glasses, black clothes and wanting to do art as a career and go to CSM! it was really great to meet you as well, (can’t belive i actaully met an artist and bought a copy of one of her works on the same day!! hihi ^_^)
you’re an inspiration, oh and incase one day you’re thinking about teaching anybody in the “way of Zarina” (lol) then i will be very happy to be you apprentice” i’ve always wanted to learn under a favourite artist of mine, but i’ve often seen taht as impossible to happen as most artists i know about have never even met me and probably wouldn’t be able to get into contact with me in such a way.
oh last thing i wanna say, do you have a deviantart account? if so i’d really liek to add you!
anyways thats it for now.. ahh i’ve got too much art homework to do for monday!! ive gotta: research jenny saville, finish 2 paintings, do 2 more new ones, research grayson perry, then research kimono and origami and create a design for a final piece by linking that and grayson perry, and do a mind map, and do some more drawings, then print out some stuff, then research another artist, then complete another drawing, then finsih some weaving stuff, then buy a book for textiles, then buy a book for phtogoraphy!!! ok well after “grayson perry” its not exactly for monday but its for next week… AAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! hahaha… i’ll get through it al lsomehow, like i did for my gcses lol. anyways keep up the great work!!

Thanks Anni!
I hope you did a lot of “googling” when you got back home! >_<
It sounds like you have a very busy weekend and week ahead, work hard and I'm sure you'll get what you want.
I'm very touched that you love my work so much and feel inspired by my illustrations! All I can say is keep exploring other artists, experiment with different media and do lots of research!
Hopefully see you at this year's London MCM Expo, if you are thinking of going I recommend booking advance tickets! Google that eh!
